The first thing the client needs to do is establish a realistic budget for their project. Secondly, we will analyze the space and discuss the client's design needs. Now, we can establish a design fee.
Design fees are based on square footage and are typically priced at the average national rate. The design fee is its own entity which provides the client with the option to only purchase the design plan should the client decide to execute the project on their own. This fee is to be paid up front and the client has up to three modifications to the original design.
Once we have accomplished our design plan, the client has the option to hire Artistic Interiors to manage the execution of the project. Project management is priced at (National Rate) per hour and is to be based on a retainer from which hourly services will be drawn. Retainers will be billed, replenished and maintained for the project's duration as needed, and unused funds are returned to the client once the project is completed. A detailed spreadsheet of the client's retainer details will be available to them at any time for their records.
Project Management Services Include:
- Working alongside architects to make sure the project's vision is communicated.
- Spec of construction trades and contractors – Vetting, price negotiating, contractor meetings.
- Liaison services between trades, contractors, inspectors, architects, vendors, and clients.
- On-site trade management – supervision, scheduling, organizing, instruction, quality control.
- Budget management to ensure the project is within its budget boundaries.
- Product research
- Custom product production management
- Product orders, tending to deliveries, shopping.
- Staging the project once all contractor work is done and all products are in.
Once the client has decided to hire Artistic Interiors to manage the execution of their project, Product such as furnishings, accessories, building materials and trade services purchased through Artistic Interiors will be billed at a "Net Cost + Commission rate" Commission percentages vary between 18% and 30% based on the volume of products and services purchased, but will always remain within "Fair Market Value". This will be a point of discussion at the client's first meeting with Artistic Interiors.
Design and Decor Consulting is also available to our clients based on an hourly rate. Consulting involves many different aspects of design from aid with selection of building materials, colors, furnishings, accessories, textiles and lighting. We will assist with shopping trips to designer showrooms, at home consultations and office-based consulting. Styling and staging also fall under the category of consulting.
